My first week … involved a lot of carpentry

The DoorWay provides services for youth and their families suffering because of addiction. Hart's older brother serves as a volunteer for the Doorway, something she would like to do when she is older. For now, she said she will have to supervise efforts to revamp the buildings interior. "I am just checking on everybody's work," she said.

Sarah & Erik

Sarah and Erik had a proper Kentucky wedding last weekend – complete with a Bourbon tour and a trip to the horse races.  It was an honor to be a part of Sarah’s big day since she is not only my dear friend, but the person who started me off in my photography career.  Congratulations Sarah and Erik!

Local crabbers lament scant catches

Carla Ghere, 29, of Chauvin, harvests crabs Sunday in Lake Boudreaux. Ghere, a fourth-generation crabber, said she will have to give up the family tradition if she can’t catch more.
